Actress Sandhya, popularly known by her stage name Kadhal Sandhya, got married to Venkat Chandrasekharan at Guruvayoor temple on Sunday.

Sandhya’s wedding was planned to be done in a grand ceremony but unfortunately due to the floods, the marriage venue was shifted from Chennai to Guruvayoor.

Sandhya’s husband, Venkat Chandrasekharan, is an IT professional based in Chennai.

Owing to the incessant rains and floods, Sandhya and her family were trapped in their flat at Vadapalani. Also, they couldn’t communicate with Venkat’s family due to poor connectivity. So at last when they contacted each other on Saturday, the families decided to conduct the wedding in Guruvayoor.

Born as Revathy, Sandhya made her debut as an actress in the 2004 Tamil film Kadhal, her performance in which earned her a Filmfare Award and Tamil Nadu State Award. In 2006, for her role in the Tamil film Dishyum , she got a Tamil Nadu State Film Special Award for the Best Actress.

In Malayalam, Sandhya got a break with Rajesh Pillai’s Traffic. Currently, she is gearing up for a comeback with Vettah. It’s reported that ‘Kadhal’ Sandhya has been brought in replacing Bhama and is paired up with Kunchacko Boban in the Rajesh Pillai-directed Vettah.
